Catalyst Force Entry Door
Tactical Breacher Upgrade
The Tactical Breacher is an upgrade to the Catalyst Force Entry Door as it comes with two Academy Lock Mechanisms. The standard lock mechanism is for mechanical breaching while the Tactical Breacher lock mechanism is for “explosive” breaching. This additional lock mechanism allows for shape charge, kinetic, and shotgun breaching. Having both lock mechanisms enables law enforcement, corrections, military, and federal agencies to utilize and train all entry strategies and tactics as per their standards, policies, and procedures.
The Tactical Breacher lock mechanism minimizes the financial cost while maximizing the life of the consumable and not relinquishing the realism you need in your training. In other words, make ONE real door into FOUR. Utilizing a 2 x 6 x 34” piece of wood, you can recreate a residential inward swinging door. If you have access to real commercial doors, then you simply cut it into sections matching the dimensions to slot into the lock mechanism and you can recreate an outward opening school or commercial door. Even further, you just took one door and turned it into four without losing the realism.
But let’s be transparently honest—sometimes a real door is exactly what you want for a real world training scenario. So if you would like to be able to hang a full length real door into our door frame we can do that too. Check out our EOD Package for more information. Even though it is a one-and-done setup, that is quite expensive, it becomes the real deal that is always the ideal evolution to train with.
Regardless of substrate slotted into the Tactical Breacher lock mechanism, breaching with kinetic, shotgun, or explosive tactics aren’t the only options with such a door setup. Instead you also have the ability to utilize mechanical tools and breach the wood or commercial door section mechanically with such tools as a ram, sledge, or halligan in order to acquire real life feedback as per how that material reacts to your tools and tactics.
Typically, only utilized by firefighters and halligans, if the baseball swing is a tactic used in your department, we also offer a bolt-on system for that as well. That add-on, bolting to the jamb, would ALSO work in conjunction with the Tactical Breacher lock mechanism mounted into the Catalyst Force Entry Door.

Door Reset Process Shown After KBT Breach Evolution
The Kinetic Breaching Tool (KBT) breaching the Catalyst Force Entry Door - Tactical Breacher Upgrade. One 2x6 and 2 dowels or 2 EMT conduit is all that is needed to load into the Tactical Breacher Lock Mechanism and utilize as the consumable. Depending on the breaching tool, two evolutions can be obtained from one wood board.
Shotgun breaching the Catalyst Force Entry Door - Tactical Breacher Upgrade by CDCR CERT operator (California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation).
Description & Usage:
The Catalyst Forcible Entry Door - Tactical Breacher (CFED-TB) is an explosive capable upgrade to our standard mechanical breaching door. The Tactical Breacher comes with two C6 Academy Armor Lock Break Mechanisms. The TB upgrade lock mechanism replaces the bolt-in mechanical lock mechanism. It will handle explosive breaching tactics such as shotgun, kinetic breaching, and shape charge based entry. By having the option to switch out your lock mechanism you can now quickly convert your training door to work either mechanical or explosive breaching. Swapping out one lock mechanism is simple and only depends on how comfortable you are with a socket set / impact gun. The swap out process can be viewed here.
Resetting for Mechanical Breaching:
One standard dowel, one 1/2” conduit pipe, up to 3 dowels, plus a 2x2 wood block allows for a variety of difficulty levels for forcible entry training depending on the scenario being trained.
Resetting for Explosive Breaching:
Slide a pre-cut 2 x 6 x 34 inch length of wood into the C6 Armor Academy Lock Break Mechanism. Once set, close the door and drill two 3/4” holes through the “pin block” of the 2x6 and pin with one 3/4” wooden dowel. Typically one can get 4 breaches out each 2x6 (2 on each side) before needing to reset with a new 2x6.
Features:
Flex Tech frame and jambs allow for realistic feedback like any real residential or commercial door.
AR-450 strike plates. Anything yellow is a fair game for swinging a ram and our yellow plates are made to take a beating.
Ram Extension Hit Plate* Upgrade: Increased surface area and protection developed specifically for ram breaching strategies.
Crush Prop - included standard. Where our competitors charge additional or force you to purchase an entirely separate prop to train, our design allows for the ability to quickly add our brackets and get to work.
Easy to transport: The CFED Stand Alone is the only training door on the market where our four-wheel system* can be seamlessly affixed to cantilever and safely move and stage out with just two-people.
The wheel system frame* built for cantilever lifting and easy mobility. However, it is also great for replicating tight hallways and limiting range of movement for confined space training. Slide two boards of plywood or sheetrock in place and use the pre-drilled holes in the wheels system frame to mount the boards as “walls”. Wheel system unbolts entirely with a crescent wrench or impact gun.
Resets in seconds: wood dowels, blocks, and conduit variations reset for multiple repetitions and technical practice as quickly as you can pound the next one into the lock mechanism.
Adjustable Fit: The frame of the CFED (Stand Alone and Direct Mount) has an adjustable gap system to ensure ideal fit between door and frame every time for thousands of evolutions.
Marine Grade Wood Door - for protection against constant water flow
Direct Mount only: Frame design and pre-drilled affixable plates allow for mounting to conex boxes, buildings, training towers, and other structures.
* Add-on Accessory
** Only applicable to Stand Alone not Direct Mount
The Tactical Breacher upgrade can be swapped out in either the Direct Mount or Stand Alone variations of the Catalyst Force Entry Door
The Direct Mount inserts into any container or training tower or building. It is ideal for already established training academies, CQB houses, and conex boxes who are looking to add more real life versatility in their training evolutions.
Coming in three different width choices, can be mounted flush into a preexisting door frame with a minimum rough opening of 46.25” x 82.” Instructions will be provided but installation can also be quoted.

The Stand Alone is accordingly named as it does not require any mounting structure or additional base weight to be functional and effective as is. Mobile, versatile, and customizable makes the Stand Alone our most popular version among Fire, Law Enforcement, CDCR, and military. Utilize the Wheel System or built in Forklift Header to allow for ease of transport and staging.
